Growing Black Raspberry Bushes
If you know anything about regular Red Raspberries, they tend to take over gardens, but not with Black Raspberries.
They make much better plant neighbors because they grow out from the base of the plant in a bush-like formation, instead of the usual circular canes that tend to take over other plants in the garden where Red Raspberries are planted. By digging the raspberry garden beds deeper and placing a 1-2 foot in-ground wooden garden bed wall around the raspberries, it is fairly easy to contain any spurious roots and keep the energy of the plant focused on berry and cane development.
